Step Up and Actively Advocate

On May 13, the Clinton school budget was narrowly defeated at referendum by 140 votes. This represents only five percent of approximately 2,800 votes cast. However about 5,000 eligible voters didn’t even cast a ballot.

As a Clinton parent of two young children, I am deeply disappointed in my town. Clinton parents—and grandparents, too—need to step up and actively advocate for their kids and quality education in town. We need to make this a priority and get involved. At least get out and vote! Each vote counts; make it matter.

There will be cuts, and they will have an impact. I encourage your readers to invest in our children’s future and the future of our town—next time vote “Yes!”
